Really confusing that SEAT seems to be pretending that it's not actually a SEAT when it has a big 'S' on the front.

Looks epic! Shame WLTP means this flagship models will be slower than the Carbon

This is quicker than the Carbon. Both 300bhp but this has more torque apparently (295lb ft).

Official figures say one thing in one place but then suggest others. Eg all the acceleration figures are unchanged.

Also only stage 1 tuneable to 350 at the moment, stage 2 not available as her due to the whole new PPF/GPF.

In contrast the carbon stage 1/ABT is 370

Although some people are saying official press from Seat is that ABT module will give it 370 still. Can’t see how when Ateca is only getting 350 with same setup.

In Sweden the offical 0-100km/h for Cupra ST is 5.2sec, Cupra ST R 4.9sec. Kinda weird since 4.9 is probably the true number anyway

I'd say 5.2 is about right as a Golf R 3 door is around 4.9 and the ST is a lot heavier.

I've had to keep it secret until now, but SEAT have now confirmed the ST R will be tunable in the UK to 370 HP and retain warranty. I've updated the article: https://www.seatcupra.net/index.php/2019/03/11/new-leon-cupra-r-st-details-and-video/

This is big news for SEAT and CUPRA and hopefully paves the way for approved remaps going forward. Something UK fans have wanted for years.

I'd say 5.2 is about right as a Golf R 3 door is around 4.9 and the ST is a lot heavier.

Golf R 5door (not estate) is 4.6
And Golf R is 1525kg and Cupra ST 4drive 1551kg.
Offical numbers in Sweden anyway

Very interested in this. Hope it's offered as an after sale upgrade for all 300 ST 4D.
