Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if the OEM intercooler for a 1.9 tdi Cupra saeys Seat Sport on it anywhere?

I took my intercooler off with the intention of upgrading it for the modified larger core alternative but every one online I have looked at say Seat Sport so could it be that I already have the upgraded one or is it the OEM part from Seat?

Or is there any way of finding out the difference??

Thanks in advance for any advice...

just out of curiosity why are u uprating it, ur old one bust ? I'm on stage 2 and my intake temps are low even with a huge ram air filter on, so think it could be just a waste of money unless u going bigger turbo or your current one is leaking

Hi mate, I am going to go for a hybrid turbo at some point so I was advised to go for a bigger intercooler...

fair enough bud, u going over 350 bhp ? someone did some tests and said it does its job to about that hp, just trying to save you some cash if you don't need to spend it, if anything id say uprate the pipe work as its restrictive as ****

They can take that power on a petrol cupra as they are not running high boost but on the diesels where they run lots of boost in comparison to the petrol the intercoolers start to leak its not massively common but quite well known.
Either way the seat sport intercooler is more than adequate on the petrol cupra just not high power diesel cupras.

Airtec do the better version of the seat sport fmic as the end tanks are welded on and on the standard fmic this is where they leak on the diesel cupras.

I was looking to go approx 230 bhp with the Hybrid so it looks like will I need an upgrade :-(

My seat sport original leaked like a sieve after the hybrid turbo upgrade! Luckily I was able to use the end caps and have a new core added, has been outstanding since!
