They already have at Revo...

I've driven it - and it's fun, but not the scarey beast you'd imagine

that's the hardware restriction for you.... can't have low down spool & keep it at the top

that car drives exceedingly well though

Jees that engine likes to rev!
Having seen some decent candy white pics and now this relatively easy mod, I could be tempted to forgive my posted shortcomings of the Cupra:blink:

about 9 days ago, no - not wheelspin in any gear (even when trying)

very very smooth delivery of power, and just devastatingly fast (but no kick in the back torque lump)

pulls to the limiter still

is the ESP light flashing much?

Another dynoplot of a Unitronic Chipped (tuning company based in Montreal-Canada with dealers-resellers in Greece) Leon Cupra (before vs after remap) earlier this year in Athens-Greece:

Power figures are at wheels (5th gear runs) ... !!! [B)]
Note that power over rpm range and therefore torque figures are not provided, as the people at the dyno were not very familiar with the removal of the engine's cover in TFSI engines ... [B)] !!!

The plots confirm the very linear nature of power delivery up to top ...!!!

Hi the car m0rk if referring to is mine, the ReVo map still allows me to pull away in first gear all the way to the limiter (7K) with almost no wheel spin, ESP doesn't kick in. refering to the torque believe me it's there (just the engine is still remarkably smooth) third gear aceleration is awesome. I am biased towards ReVo as my last car an LCR was remapped by them by the previous owner, and was the main reason i bought it.

But does your Revo'd Cupra Feel as fast as your revo'd LCR.
Shame about the lack of shove in the back though.

Honest thoug - the shove in the back is more than nice, addictive and one of the best features of the LCR.

But, if the new Cupra is any bit as good as the (standard) S3 I drove the other week, you'll soon get addicted to a different kind of drive. Much, much better at higher revs, and through the gears. Better drivers car.

The low down torque was "lacking", but it wasn't massively behind my remapped LCR. I could feel the S3 was "behind" but it wasn't like a night and day difference.

Turns out the S3 MTM was also running 285bhp rather than the claimed 308bhp. I hadn't had my car rollered at the time the MTM map went onto it as it was just too new (198 miles). It never really felt like a big improvement over the standard map, but I assumed it may take time to run in / adapt.

After a few weeks I called Revo as I wasn't best impressed with MTM's £1050 offering, and surprise suprise, you'll notice I've swithced over. A true testiment that expensive dioesn't always necessarily mean good.

I'm back on Revo and the map is just fantastic. Superbly controlled delivery of power. One of our contractors who has an M3 CSL (and who hates turbo power delivery) said that he couldn't believe how linear the power delivery was for a turbo car. He also said that he loved the way that power was on tap in any gear. Not my words here, as of course I'd be biased ;-) !!!

I initially thought I'd miss the kick in the back on my LCR Stage 2 map, but the problem is if you try to put too much power down early on all you'll get is TCS / ESP lights and then the power backs off (which I assume is not what you want). A controlled power deliver to the road is less exhilerating but the results are that you get uninterupted power. Deceptively quick (you look down and you're at 3 figure speeds VERY quickly).

Have many people Revo'd their Mk2 Cupras yet??????

cheers

Warren

I had mine Revo'd a week ago, only a muscle strain in my neck (from looking behind too quickly at legally dubious speed) has wiped the insane grin from my face, it is superbly driveable, 3rd gear acceleration is breathtaking, no torque steer, and switchable user defineable maps, for less than £900, this really is a complete no brainer, an essential purchase for any Cupra owner IMHO...
