My car came with the Pirelli P-zero's. I thought they were pretty average grip wise, but lasted quite a while. I now have the Goodyear eagle GSD3's, better grip, but are alot softer and wearing quickly. Good old front wheel drive cars :)

My Experience (not in a Leon - but on other cars)

Pirelli's are sold cheap to car manufacturers - that's why they put them on the car, nobody actually goes to a tyre garage to actually buy them!

Michelin's lots of grip when they are brand new, and are excellent tyres but once they are down to about 2mm they seem to loose lots of grip and they slide quite easily. Last the longest too.

Dunlop rubbish when they are new, need a few thousand miles on em to get em down to about 5mm (from 8mm when new) and they suddenly go from a rubbish tire where your always sliding to a sticky tyre which is great all the way until they are bold. :)

I had Goodyear Eagle F1's on my 2.3V5 Toledo, and they were great tyres.
The road holding was excellent, even in poor weather. Another good thing was they did not seem to pass on as much road noise as the Bridgestones i had before that.

I would definitely look to use them when the tyres on my new Leon FR wear out.
