I wouldn't mind the cost if the fookin things would last long enough! In the 26k miles done in the R it's had 4 tyres all due to damage ( two with sidewall bulges two holed ) previous FR in 18's did similar mileage and only had tyres replaced due to wear.

Original R rubber was Pirelli, after the last damaged one I've gone for Goodyear , hope they are more resilient.

It's also putting me off the new 280, if there is ever an R I dread to think what size wheels it'll have.....

22" chrome spinners brother.

Truth is

Cupra R owners love them and are more than happy with purchasing them no matter what price paid

Most Cupra owners who say they wouldn't purely could not justify the cost

It wasn't just a case of not being able to justify the cost

The closest cupra R price wise to the Cupra I got was £3.5K more

I have spent about £2k on my cupra and it is better specced than the Cupra R that I looked at and it cost me £1.5k less, is quicker and I really don't regret going for this instead of the cupra R

I could have afforded the Cupra R, i just didnt want to pay £3.5k for leather seats that I didn't want

(But I am jealous of the 19s)

Justifying cost :roll eyes:

And no matter how much you throw at it it will never be a Cupra R

Well yeah of course they are cheaper they are smaller, but it's hardly a bank breaker is it, id wager you waste more than 160 quid on other crap during the life of a set of tyres.

I could have bought one no bother considering what I paid for mine but I got my Cupra for a much a better deal than any R at the time, especially considering the extras that came with it.

Thats what i'm getting at, you could not justify the extra expense

I have yet to come across any LCR owner who says they wish they bought a Cupra instead
