I'm not arguing just stating my opinion because someone asked a question which has been answered.
evo 5 vs LCR as a performance car nothing else.evo 5 by a long way
evo5 vs LCR as a sporty daily driver/family car. LCR,cheap to run,fairly fast,comfy etc

no one mentioned ihi.

Yep i agree with that, LCR is a family sporty hatch, was never designed to be an evo beater. Standard vs standard evo all day long, and like someone has said, no point comparing modded vs standard as your back at square 1 again as soon as you mod the evo.

The point i was trying to make is that a remapped R can hold onto a standardish evo <320bhp in a straight line at up and running speeds 30-130. (not 30-70 as someone suggested)
Im very aware, track/1/4 mile/0-60/damp etc evo will make mince meat of any LCR:)

Never been on a track and never will but if i ever had the option, it wouldn't be in something with mountains of turbo lag;)

95% of my driving consists of motorways, so straight line speed is impotant to me.

There are plenty of 1.8t that will show evos a pair of heels, lots of IHI cars running around now:)

Wont argue any further on this 1, evos are good at what they do. So what? Why on a seat forum arguing about it?

So your telling me that you do 95% motorway driving and then tell me your car is good at 130mph?!? ... surley that is track kinda speed with the speed limt being 70mph ... unless it's changed?

Yes there are plenty of IHI LCR's out there now ... but 5 minutes on MLR will reveal plenty of 500bhp+ Evo's

A-B car there isn't much that will touch it. Ryan, Kev and myself have had Evo's and all agree that there is no competition but when you take into account the running costs then it might not be worth the hastle.

Are we agruing ... No. I'm only here as I'm picking up my mk3 20vT Ibiza on Tue. And I am quite excited about picking it up too! cheap to run and still offers cheap thrills. I have had the Revo'd LCR / Standard mk3 Ibiza cupra / Ibiza TDi 130 and the Evo XT360 so I think I am qualified to give my opinion on a Evo v LCR thread. ;)

Ohh not quite sure what the turbo lag was about ... plenty of anti-lag equipment on the market. I had an apexi and power was always on tap :p
