VWR Lower Engine Mount vs Powerflex yellow engine mount for road/track usage?

No idea as I have no experience with the VWR. But can say that the car is reacting quite significantly to the change of the dog bone bush and that the yellow version of the dog bone bush is an extremely well composed upgrade.

finally powerflex hybrid installed. At the end 15 minutes of work. I can't tell the difference between my old CTS insert and powerflex yet while it's dry weather. I gave WOT leaving garrage and small wheel hop tried to kick in, so i it will not dissapear in the wet. When it comes to the vibrations - I would even say that there is no vibrations that supprised me while when I inserted CTS 2 years ago i could definatelly feel them - not annoying, but could feel it.

Is there any step-by-step guides available for this mod?
Since some people are claiming it to take only 15minutes while others are having a hard time doing it..

Loosen the bolt for the bush, cut the edge of the original bush, pull it out , grease up the powerflex bush and mount it, tilt the gearbox forward to fit the bolt again and tighten up.

Done like the above it is a 15 min job.

Just a couple of questions based on your reply.

How much and where to cut?
Also cut with what, a regular saw, powered cutting tool?
How to "pull" the old bushing out, with what and how to "mount" the new bushing?

Since many people seem to struggle with this, i guess it would make sense to make everything clear once for all? :)
Perhaps if someone who have done this could put up a step-by-step guide?

We cut the outer white circle of the original bush with an air power cutter. Just be careful not to cut the upper part of the bush (it is two pieces and you only change the lower part) or the frame itself for that matter.

You can pull the original bush out with a normal spike or straightener, once the outer white circle is cut, just clamp around the central part of the bush and pull firmly down.

On this forum, people will rather ask everybody else here using their mobile device what bush they have on their car, than kneel down and have a look themselves with a mirror or said mobile.

Done like that it is a 2 week job ;)

On a more serious note, I would recommend to remove the dogbone itself (release screws on gearbox and pull out forward) to get it out of harms way before trying to forcibly removing the lower part of the original bush, unless you have the proper tools for the job.

Removing the dogbone itself will definitely not do any harm and does not take long - my point with the above is that it as such is not strictly necessary as you can just tilt the gearbox forward and everything will be as smooth as with the dogbone removed. We removed the dogbone when I changed from original to black line bush, and did not do it when I changed from black line to yellow stuff (street version) :)

I bought the Yellow Powerflex complete bush
But chickened out of doing it myself
Local specialist charged me £30 to fit it
Worth the cost to avoid any hassle with removing the old bush
Job Done:D

Update.. I had the 034 insert fitted to my 300 SC.. I replaced it with the Yellow Powerflex insert.
Not impressed at all woth the NVH at idle, or if in reverse, idle or and other stationary condition. Going
back to the 034 insert which is far better and does the same job without the NVH at idle issues..

There will be a slightly used Powerflex up for sale soon (Version 2 )

The recommendation and experiences here with the powerflex is with the full bush, not the insert.

From the sound of your review of the insert it seems like you fitted the wrong version of the two - cannot remember who but someone had a similar experience on another tread and realized it was the wrong version of the insert that was fitted.

I have no noticeable NVH at idle or reverse with the powerflex bush.

Perfect G, Fitted the correct insert, I doubt the other version would go in! There are various opinions in this thread, of the 034 and various types of poly inserts/mounts. I've just stating my preference and experiences of the two I've tried to date..

It was not the intention to argue against your opinion/experience so apologies if it came across like that.

It was merrily the intention to emphasize the fact that the yellow stuff bush is great and at the same time point your attention to the fact that another user had an experience with a lot of vibrations due to the wrong type being mounted - and as there hardly are any with the bush it just seemed odd that there would be with just the insert.

I wonder why there are such big differences between our cars? Something must be different, maybe the type? I have the yellow powerflex insert, it's excellent and no negative issues after several months on road and track with 350 bhp. I do want to compare the insert to the full bush but it's been doing so well on our slippy country roads recently, I really don't see the point until I've got lots more spare time! :)

Maybe it is my tolerance level to the additional vibration I get with the Powerflex vs the 034.
However I think the 034 insert offers 90% reduction in wheel hop with the only NVH experienced when under heavy acceleration/gear change. The Powerflex issue only appears when the car is at idle in comfort or individual mode. When I select Sport or Cupra mode that raises the idle limit and the NVH is gone..

Just my opinions and tolerance level... Which is different to others :)
What is clear through, whatever solution you pick improves the standard problem...

:)

I have no increase in NVH at idle no matter the driving mode and I have the yellow stuff bush. The NVH is increased at startup, hard acceleration and in reverse but only marginally.

On the other hand I had a massive increase in NVH with the black line bush.

Anyone else that is experiencing increased NVH at idle with powerflex yellow stuff?

I am fairly tolerant :D however I'm not getting any vibrations at idle in comfort mode, hence why I was thinking there is obviously something different about our cars...

Think the difference is between car's being dsg and manual. Seems to be more noticeable on dsg car's form what I have read. Haven't got round to getting one for mine yet but planning on the powerflex yellow insert.

one thing I don't understand, i have wheel hops when pulling away in a straight line, but now wheel hop when turning out at a junction and flooring it. Is that something to do with a Cupra diff?
