John, blue is way to stiff. stock is 6psi (green).
I run 11psi (yellow)
Blue is very strong if i'm not mistaken. start on green and try yelloww if necessart but i doubt you'll need it on a stock tubby.
Lovely motor by the way.:)

Thanks for your advise wild.

I was told to try a blue spring in it cause im running about 24 psi atm on stage 2. ive got a yellow spring aswell but a blue 1 came in it.

have you got an actuator fitted on your hybrid ???

Detailed

Had a busy day taking my car to be detailed :D
I do all the cleaning myself and normally looks great and shines for a week till the next wash. This time i took it for a pro to do the work while i watched, learnt how its done.
really good job done on the car and with a yellow car all the tar and fly poo is a pain to remove.

have you got an actuator fitted on your hybrid ???
I have the Forge actuator fitted to the hybrid and its great. I've often woundered if the forge actuator fitted to a stock turbo would increase red line boost (no reason why it shouldn't). What boost you holding at red line.
The actuator is very tricky to fit to the tubby whilst its fitted in the car. The top bolt securing the bracket of the original actuator wouldn't come out all the way as its fouled by the water bango bolt. Some people are lucky and just miss it. i cut the actuator bolt off in situ with a long hacksaw blade, removed the remaining thread and refitted the new actuator with a shorter screw. Once fitted the forge actuator can be removed from its bracket in situ more easily than removing the bracket from the turbo. Well worth it though.
If you decide to completely remove the turbo to fit the actuator... send it off for the hybrid treatment, it transforms the car into a different league for chump change.
I run my hybrid on apr stage 2 software inconjunction with Vtune, lemmingwinks and a 4 barr reg.
Defo no stronger than yellow spring as this goes up to 15psi. For reference a gt28rs requires no more than 14 psi actuator pressure. My hybrid is set at 11-12 psi and holds 1.5 bar at red line.

My boost gauge shows about 24 peak then holds to about 21psi to the red line so was hoping that it holds stronger boost till the red line , i know they put them on the focus rs to help this problem.
I will wait till my turbo to lets go then hybrid all the way.
I know that boost pressure psi and the actuator psi are different
I will probs fit the actuator at work so will do it in situ and end up cutting the hard bolt off like you said.

Big thanks for the info and help again wild :D

Well ive had my forge actuator fitted for about a month now and still is running fine , holds boost a lot better and defo pulls alot harder now.

The job it self was a bit of a pain, i did it over a pit (Demonpete). i think would be been bit easier on a ramp at work tho. Pretty much have to remove the turbo, undoing it from the exhaust manifold and moving it back a few inches, so you are able to undo the water banjo bolt that is in the way of 1 10mm bolt that is holding the standard actuator on, the lower 10mm bolt is easy to undo from under the car. once that was removed refit and adjust the rod with some pre load. i used a yellow spring in mine.

The last rolling road i did my car did 266 bhp and 344 lb ft.
this time it did 278 bhp

Ive got the graph to scan in so will do that in a bit.

Nice one John, its defo worth the hastle. Have you tried tighening the nuts on the rod to get max boost. You didn't fancy cutting the upper 10mm bracket bolt off with a hacksaw to save you removing the turbo.

That's a good change, did the torque drop?
Nice to see you exploring the limits of the OEM KO4

so is that just the actuator that gave you the extra 12bhp then John? I know you mentioned this increase on the day but reading it really made me realise what a good increase you got!

The torque did go up aswell from 344 up 2 347 only 3 hehe but makes it pull like a train,

I think with the forge actuator helps it hold boost alot longer which is giving me the extra power.

we worth the job i did to get a actuator :D
