Just noticed my cv boot that I'd cable tied on Wednesday has come loose again. I need to drive from Blackpool to Cumbria in a few mins. Will it be alright? Bloody annoying!
cant you put a new stroger cable tie on it.
a wider stronger one would be better by the sounds of it.

if the roads arnt to dirty you should be ok although it would be better if it was the slim end hopefully the roads arnt wet where your going.
you might have to repack it with cv grease when you do fix it back on properly which hopefully will be asap.

the best to to use cv boots is a jubilee clip either screw one or the type you crimp together, i use these all the time on the crappy renaults that i work on at work. pull the boot back and check the universal joint within for dirt, clean it up and repack with grease then use one of those clips, works a treat 
Anything that raises up more than a few mill will catch on the housing so don't know if a jubiled clip will work. Will have to leave till next weekend now anyway. Cheers.
