Damn window regulators!!!

Why are window regulators so crap!!!

My drivers side one just went on me, just as I was about to go into the car wash...great! You can imagine how stupid I looked in front of the whole petrol station trying to pull my window up by hand!

Is there anywhere other than SEAT that I can get one? I don't really want to buy second hand as this is the 2nd MK2 one to go on me so I know it'll happen again. The last one was the passengers one on the Cordy...I never bothered changing it since I had aircon. This Ibiza has no gas in the air con and it's gonna be a PITA to get into the barriers at work!

I hope I get some replies with cheap answers!

ECP kept giving me a 4 door mech depite assuring me it was the right one.

Tom if it was last weekend , there was one in an ibiza driver door in the scrappy I picked up my 'slam'panel and bumper from could have prolly got it for a couple of quid (bits I got only cost 15 quid! )

Yep, it struggles to go up and then fails!

Yeah I watched my best mate do his in his MK3 Golf. Didn't take him long at all!

His cost £40 from ECP though, the lucky git!

Editted to add: sorry i'm an idiot! it's actually drivers side for my car, which if course is passenger side for the UK! doh sorry! (unless they are the same side to side??)

Brummy PM'd me the link to that regulator, but I had already seen it and PM'd the seller!

I was going to do my research on this, the part numbers aren't the same but the doors are the same and its 2 pin so I guess I'll have to check my pinouts first!

I love scrappies too, I always go to my local! I had been to the scrappy only an hour before it failed! That said if they ever got Ibizas in, I would've stripped it of half its bits by now! The once had a Cordy SX in but I forgot my tools. I went back next day and someone must've bought the shell!

I thought I'd dig this old thread up rather then starting a new one. As you might have guessed, my drivers side window has stopped working. I can hear the motor, but the window will only move down. It hasn't dropped tho. I'm just wondering if anyone knows which other regulators will fit. mk3 or mk4 golf?? mk4 polo, mk3 ibiza????
