Small update, serviced the car yesterday. That included oil change, oil filter, fuel filter (which I ended up giving to my bro) and air filter.

Some pics as I am bored lol.

Old and new filters.

Pic of the H&R's and cheap splitter.

Will be ringing around for prices on having the timing belt done this week. Then will try an sort having the front springs put on. Will do the rears myself.

The FR is booked in for its cambelt next Wednesday, also if the garage has time they'll do the front H&R's too.

Just need to get some new drop links in case they have issues with the old ones.

Will hope to fit the splitter tape over the weekend.

Cheers Craig, yeah cant wait to get the springs fitted.

Very happy with the splitter, especially for £10. Think it gives that little something that the front end was missing.

Have also spotted some cheap xenon headlights on eBay but not sure they'd be worth the hassle.

She's looking good,

Xenon so wouldn't be worth the hassle,as you'd need the washer jets aswell. Have you seen the headlights with the strobing indicators like the new audi's ? I think they work out quite cheap for what they are. The guy who makes them posted a video in the mk2 'what have you done to your Leon today' thread , or whatever it's called

Thanks mate.

Mine already has the washers so would only need the control modules from what I've read and these set of xenons are around £200 ;)

Yeah I've seen Robs headlights but think they're still a little bit out of my price range lol.

Cambelt and water pump done today and also had the front H&R's fitted with new drop links and strut tops.

I'm going to do the rear springs tomorrow night after work.

Car looks a bit odd being nose down :)

Fitted the rear springs tonight, but as it was getting dark I didn't take any pictures. Makes a huge difference over the standard springs and feels way better through corners.

I did get a couple of pictures of it nose down though lol.

One for comparison of the front

Will get better pictures tomorrow.

Do xenons need self levelling as well, or is that only on cars fitted with them from new ?

Been a bit slack getting the pictures uploaded, this is due to having a slight issue with the garage who did my springs and cambelt.

It appears the passenger side wiper arm spindle had been snapped off during removal (when fitting the front springs) resulting in there not being enough thread for the nut to hold the wiper arm on and it coming off while being used.

Now on inspection of the wiper arm, it was quite shocking that the arm has been ground down to allow the nut to sit lower to bite onto the thread. I was infuriated that someone would do that to someone else's car. I went back to the garage and went mad but they (as they would) denied all knowledge of it and insisted they tried to re-bodge the job that had already been done by the previous owner.

Long story short they agreed to supply and fit a new linkage but I have to pay half for the part, which is fair enough I guess as it does appear the original grounding of the wiper arm was done a long time ago as it wasn't fresh metal showing.

Still not ideal but at least it is getting sorted. Pictures of this and of the car with rear springs on to follow.

Ha Dan,

Yes the H&R's give a much better ride quality compared to stock and make it look better/handle better so a win in many areas.

Shame about the bolt buddy but least you are getting it sorted :)

Looking forward to the pics mate

Today I gave the FR a good interior clean and hoover and also gave the engine bay a good once over as it was a little neglected.

Before

After

Also here's pictures of the bodged wiper arm that the garage are adamant they didn't do despite admitting to trying to re-bodge it. I still think they 100% did all the grinding seen in the picture.

How it should look.

And how it looks now

Finally a couple of pictures of the car with all springs fitted. Not the best pictures, and excuse the selfish parking (just don't like to risk inconsiderate people opening their doors on my car). Also excuse how dirty the car is.

Weather permitting I'll give it a good clean tomorrow.

The difference that splitter makes for £10 is amazing. Did you use self tapping screws like Dan or did you trust the tape?

Is it wrong how much I liked it with just the front lowered? Haha, tempted to remove my rear H&Rs :p

I know I'm very happy with the splitter tape, didnt think it would make much difference on a black Leon but you can't go wrong for £10.

Yeah I used a few self tappers, but only about 4.

Haha it does look good nose down..

Took the FR back to the garage that did my cambelt so they could replace the passenger wiper linkage this morning.

Also picked up my short shifter from the post office. Should have it fitted later if the rain/snow stops.
