Dash rattle at 800rpm

Hi guys,

I have a really annoying rattle at 800rpm, if I rev to 900 rpm it goes.
the rattle I cannot make out where it is, sounds like behind the steering wheel/or centre console. It’s really annoying and is definitely louder then the engine. The car sounds quieter at 900 revs then 800.

I have sometimes fixed the issue by using Air Con and recirculating button- but this is also hit and miss

car is a 2015(64) 184 Fr
Anyone ever had the same issue?

Try holding the center binacle below your Speedo with some pressure and see if it goes.

How long do you spend in the car at 800rpm? surely this isn't really a massive problem and you can just live with it.

If it's louder than the engine it's going to be pretty annoying.

Unfortunately, Every time I pull up at lights, drive thrus etc so stationary for quite some time. @Wings988

it is very annoying, I will try holding the centre binnacle.. next time in in the car Thanks

Had a 63 plate Mk3 Leon that did that. Went to the dealer, they took out the instrument section, put some foam thingi there, and it stopped. THey said it was the instrument binacle. .

I hate rattles. I have to fix them. Cars are much better these days but I remember years ago practically taking the whole dash out and putting foam and tape everywhere. Best one was a rattle from the rear view mirror, which sounded like it was coming from behind you! Easy to fix once you knew what it was but took ages to realize what it was.
