Dash Trim (Pre FL)

Anybody who bought the dials and side vent trims off ebay 2 or 3 years ago and was always disappointed that there was nothing available for the centre vents on RHD cars might be interested in this?

It's 3.5mm flexible chrome finish plastic trim with an adhesive backing; it's a bit tricky to apply to get around the corners and keep it straight, but I think the end result is pretty good and finishes off the dash dress-up nicely. The supplied length is 3.5m, so if you get it wrong, you've plenty more to try again.

Cheers for that I could only find it on the German das eBäy.
Got the chrome dials and vents on,wouldn't mind the chrome surround for round the gear gaiter as well.

Edit...I Thaught it was the ready made trim,that still looks great though.
Might have to give it a go.

I been looking for a dial rings set and gearstick bezel though i want them in matt chrome to match!!!

Have a look at this ebay seller, pricey IMO bt might be worth a punt. Still not matt chrome!
They do heater vent rings also.

Iv contacted the company to see if they could stock/manufacture matt chrome /brushed alluminium rings and im waiting on a decision

Yes, I started in the middle of the vent at the bottom and then peeling away the backing as I went, I stuck the trim down working my way around; if you look closely you can see the join.

As far as I know centre vent trims, either SEAT or after market have never been available for RHD Leon's.

Edit: I've looked at those dial trims and they look the same as mine, they are polished aluminium and have matching side vent trims; they wouldn't be too difficult to rub down to get a brushed finish if you can't source them already done.

The chrome strip I used for my centre vent can be rubbed down to give a reasonable brushed effect, I just quickly tried it on a spare piece.

Looks a decent job mate, the only reason iv not done it is because of the joins being messy

Tbf the colours arnt far off, compare the trim you used to the vent adjuster, steering wheel controls, stereo controls

Did you use a stanly knife to get the joints neat? Mite do this for the dial surrounds!

I used scissors to cut it to length, which was easy because the two ends were connecting in a straight line, it will probably be a bit harder to get a good join around the dials or side vents because the join will be on a curve?

For less than £6 for a 3m+ length of the flexible trim compared to £47 for the polished aluminium dial and side vent trims off ebay it's worth a try and if your not happy with the results you can still buy the aluminium trims and use the flexible trim for the centre vent as that's the only option.
