The amber warning light on my dashboard came on last night as shown in the images below  I had driven through a large puddle and wondered if the water had upset something..... any ideas?? thanks

thanks for your info guys. will fire it in to get checked out and i also need my 120k service.......... yeouch!!

as gary says, get it on vagcom.

post in the vagcom section - there may be someone local who can help you.

otherwise, you're looking at about £45 just to get the fault codes read.

whereabouts are you?

I had this light come on on Christmas eve... I thought as it's the diagnostics / pollution light, probably something to do with my new Piper turbo back exhaust...

Hi Johnny,

Same thing happened to me today, light just came on while I was sat in traffic.

I also have a turbo back inc hi flo cat piper exhaust

Did you find out anymore?

Thanks,
Neil.

The likelihood is when you went thru the puddle you got some water on the lambda probe(s) and its knacked it. You need vag-com to tell though really.

Ive had this one my 4mo recently, and its just come on on my LC too, right pain in the arse they are!!!

Alternatively, if you fancy spending a bit more, you can have them deleted with a remap, so it doesnt matter if theyre broke, may also be a way forward for aftermarket exhausts too ;)

in reply to my original post, i had my car in for testing today. the problem was traced to an air leak from a pipe under the inlet manifold........ the pipe needs replaced.

I had mine checked on vag-com, this is the fault code.

1 Fault Found:
16804 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0420 - 35-00 - -

I had the emissions checked to make sure the cat is ok, all readings were well below spec so the cat is ok.

I have a full exhaust system with high flow cat so might space out the second lambda as some of the guys are doing here...
