Dashboard lights flicker when lights are off.

Hello everyone! I've been stalking these forums for a while now, I'm pleased to say that since then I've purchased myself a very pretty 2002 1.2 S! Now it's my first car, so don't be too harsh on me. Thing is, I've been driving around a while now, and today a strange thing happened when I parked up at home and turned my lights off. The dashboard (speedometer) was flickering on and off. Not only that, but when I part-opened the door, it started flickering even harder. I've no idea what this is. I'm in my room now, and I can only assume my dashboard is still flickering away. Has anyone else experienced this, or knows what this is?

Im on here searching for a similar problem. I have a 1995 seat ibiza salsa 1.4. It's my second car, but my problem is slightly different...
The lights in the speedo area of my dash keep turning off. so at night i cant see anything to do with petrol and speed haha! (Great for safety, i know) The bulbs haven't blown or whatever because, if i tap the top of the dash above them, one, or both bulbs come back on and i can see, however, it's not a reliable theory, sometimes they just don't come back on.
I was wondering if it's a wiring problem?
[ I'm amateur at fixing cars, my brother's pure elite at it, but i cant seem to get him to look at it for me ]

Usually a bad connection either in the ground (more likely) or the hot leg. I have seen a loose fuse cause this as well if you don't feel up to checking this take it down to a garage to get them to take a look.
