Coz its the actual cars headlights on not a sub lamp or smt. The headligths are actually on all the time! whats the purpose of a headlight switch or a sensor if they r gna be on all the time???

why would you want DRL's disabled anyway?

Sometimes it would be nice to switch off the lights

The guys on the Channel Tunnel are not impressed with DRL,s

They keep asking people to switch off all lights when entering the train and are rather miffed when people explain that the lights are on with the engine and cant be switched off.

Apparently the lights confuse the fire detection equipment.

Fair point. SEAT should have thought about simple things like this.

Not Seat's fault - it's the prize idiots making the rules that need to start thinking.

Seat are only complying with the regulations like all the other manufacturers.

This is why I didn't buy the new shape i opted for a 10 plate. According to my uncle who works for seat you can no longer turn DRLs off as part of the regulations set by our very thoughtful health and safety idiots.

i wouldn't say idiots it is much safer to have drls than it is to have auto headlamps.

They also included the one out all out clause so if you dont like them then remove one of the wires and it will all go out.

I now have a 2012 Yeti with Xenons, I can disable DRL via the multi function computer thing by digging into the menu system however Yetis with the normal multi function display cannot without VCDS. It would be nice to just have a switch. The DRLs go out when the headlights are on though, even with the auto lights. Looking at some cars on the road with normal lights (new Astra for instance) it looks like the DRLs are on all the time but I may be wrong.

EU meddling again. Probably similar on most cars with DRLs

I have a back problem a trapped nerve that was causing pain getting into and out of the car in the confined parking spaces where I live, not a fault of the car, maybe the 5 door Ibiza with shorter doors would have been better. Having sold my other car a 2002 Mondeo estate 130 TDCi a few months ago and I didn't have the ability to move larger amounts of stuff around. I wanted something in the middle. Preferably VAG.

To be honest I didn't think I would have changed quite so early, I've always liked the Yeti but a 6 month waiting list and few used ones with very high prices put me off until I spotted a pre-registered showroom car with a few grand off in the dealers with some extras (panoramic roof, park assist + more) that only had 41, yes forty one miles on the clock. It was so much easier to get in and out of then my Ibiza plus it was the top range model.

I do miss the striking looks of the Ibiza, the best looking car in its class by far, what is strange is that there is very little difference in insurance, the170 BHP Yeti is actually cheaper for me than my Ibiza was last year. And that's with the VAG insurance quote.
