Dealers, make you think theyre jumping through hoops for you

FFS, my local dealer is having problems finding the part number for the slave clutch cylinder, they cant find the one that goes inside the box and has the release bearing in it.

So I phone a different dealer that looked after the car previously to see if they know the p/n for me to tell my local to order in.

So I speak to the guy at this other dealer, he spends about 120 seconds looking on his system, finds the part, I said so whats the p/n.

His response, "I dont normally give out part numbers"

I say "Riiiight, well I could do with it really"

Him "Well then you making me do all the work for nothing"

EVER THOUGHT OF JUST HELPING OUT FFS, IM ONLY ASKING FOR A P/N NOT AN 80K SERVICE FOR FREE

Dealers are just annoying to be honest mate! I went into MK seat yesterday and tried to buy some injector seals as one of mine is leaking, and if we're gonna replace one we may as well replace them all, so I needed 8... about 60p each

They wanted £2 somethign +VAT per injector seal! He quoted me for 16 first, £50 !!

They bug me...

MkSeat are generally rubbish though arnt they? Well Stoneacre was anyway, my dad has a X-type from the showroom directly opposite, and i had to go get some tiny little work done on his car under warrenty, so i first stopped in to stoneacre to get some documents for my courtesy car (I got a producer from the police so needed insurance stuff), they were so rude and took abut 20 minutes to find it, went to jag and they did it in five mins, was really nice about everything, SUCH a difference in their attitude.

all depends on the parts guy.

My mate has worked in a parts place for 10 years and can tell you most parts without even checking, and they are always right, very rarely does he get it wrong, unless it is peugeot brake parts which means lottery time due to the amount of brands they fitted, lucas, Girling, bendex, etc etc etc
