Decat Pipe

is it worth while to get a decat for my 99 8v cp sport? , im not wanting the exhaust to be loud and ovbious , so im thinkign of getting a decat pipe and a custom midesection mated to the magnex back box for a little extra performance , anyone fitted one and be abkle to shed any light as to the gains available ?

ive got a decat on my 16v and its the best mod ive got.

vosa are now conducting spot checks on vehicles and you could face a £1000 fine if caught, i know its unlikely you will get checked but i dont think its worth the risk

didnt make much difference to mine when i had it done, sound or performance wise...

its for sale though if youre interested... its just a 2'' pipe with the flange for the downpipe and a sleeve to fit over the existing system...

yea that was on the turbo
but the noise didnt really change... slightly more raspy but nothing like what i expected

I really felt the differance with mine. Dont know if they might be less efective with the blower.

On a 16v I would recommend it, sports cats are crap... been there!

But on the 8v I don't know because the advantage of the 8v is the low end torque and with a decat you loose that and gain higher up the rev range. With a 16v there is hardly any low down torque and they do need to be rev'd.
