Decat?

Hi guys, I have very recently bought a 2001 V5 Toledo, the previous owner says it has been remapped but couldn't supply evidence of this - are there any tell tale signs of a remap on these engines?
Also, as much as I like the car/engine, I feel it needs a little something extra. Has anyone added a decat pipe? I can't find any listed (are they the same as Bora/Golfs) but think it may be a good addition.

Any advice on further improvements would be much appreciated as I intend to keep this car for some time.

Hi sax not sure on the re-map maybe a run on the dyno would be the best way to check.

with regards to the cat it should feel a little bit less restrictive, and im not going to say yes to whether a golf or bora decat would fit but they do tend to use the same parts etc across the vag range best to check part numbers etc
