Diagnosis light on dash

Just a little question, I was looking at some pics of other leons on here and noticed that on some pics peoples Diagnosis light is on? Now, mine never comes on? i would imagine it just comes on with the first turn of your key then goes off, but mine never comes on. Is this something i need to get sorted? Thanks guys

not sure, i have the early leon, but think they suppose to. at least the light wont bug me

Mine is early too, Its just i saw it on in some pics but not in my car? thought it might be the bulb? I guess its a good thing if it dont come on, but was a bit worried if its the bulb then it wont come on if i get any problems. Oh well, glad im not the only one! Thanks chaps!!

Yeh, have mines vag every few weeks and quick power runs just to make sure every thing right

had my cluster out few times, they soldered into board (cant see any sign of tampering)

Doesnt come on at all in my APP engined Leon, Ive tried 3 different dashes in there and not one showed it!

Pheww Thought my cluster was mangled.
so when does it actualy come on

so far i had lambda sensor, n75, maf, fault and still no light

It comes on after to first turn to as a "check" so you can see there working. then "should" go off when you start the car.

Update

Did a test on the instrument, the engine light does show when tested but when the igntion is turned it dont show.
