Now i know the difference between a the 210 and 225 or LCR gets asked alot...

But, im thinking about getting a 2001 Leon Cupra...

Could you please list the differences between this, and say, a 05 plate Curpra R.

Thanks

I dont want the differnece between the 210 and 220 but the 180 and 220

sorry - misread the question!

Different engine, in many aspects, not least the 180 has a smaller turbo, single intercooler.

The R has bigger wheels, bigger brakes (front & rear) black interior. different wishbones & front suspension

cupra has 312mm brakes, single side mounted intercooler, slightly smaller turbo,
cupra r gets brembo 4 pot brakes twin intercoolers slightly larger turbo, different bumpers and exhaust. interior trim is more black orientated and flashes of red every so often on steering wheel/gear knob etc.

Im not just asking about engine.. i want to know about bodykit, and other extras, same brakes? etc

The link to the thread above covers most of that i think mate!

Body kit is different as the 180 has had 2 face lifts Cupra and FR, and the later FRs you could get the R bodykit although the wheels are only 17"

This is 2 confusing =(

I love the look of the 55 leon cupra r (saw one today) but that is not what ill get if i buy a cupra - and i cant get the R due to insruance and im getting a 2001 (probably) cupra booohoooo.. it wont be close to the same =(

spiralysis why not buy a modded leon thats been given facelifted bumpers? you get the cost of a 2001 cupra with the looks of a 2003-2005?

That sounds like a plan!

Or i could do it all myself i guess.. i want to lots of modding... but would rather go for engine, and buy it with the right kit in the first place..

I don't know how much you can afford, but the later FRs (Cupras were renamed FRs) come with the R bodykit.
