Hi all,
I ordered a digital volt gauge from ebay and it has arrived but it's an oil temp gauge... It does have a digital readout so the seller said it will work for voltage as well?

I haven't opened it to test incase I need to send it back, but will it work for volts even though its a digital oil temp gauge?

Thanks
Dan

post a link to it Dan, some of these have oil temp round the outside and volts in the middle (two function gauge)

The listing does and if you look closely on the picture you can see it says 'Volts' on the gauge itself, but the one they've sent me says 'oil temp' and when I contacted them they said it would still work as it has a digital display :|

Power cap? :cartman:

All I will say is I know quite abit about audio through my TalkAudio membership and suffice to say power caps are useful as flash doorstops, that's about it

If the battery is poor, a power cap will only further drain it, not to mention it's minimal capacity that discharges fully in milliseconds.

Upgrading the battery will equate to many many caps.

I used to run a big power cap its not going to be much good for Dan monitoring the battery unless hes driving from the boot :D

They are good if your running big amps tho.

If you're running big amps, upgrading the big three with 0 gauge (battery neg to earth, battery positive to alt, alt to earth), uprated battery up front, split charge a second battery in the boot, 0 gauge cabling everywhere and possibly an uprated alternator are the best ways to go. Power caps are not a great help.

As said, I need to monitor the battery up front ;)
