I want a demo aswell, why dont they do a revo demo for diesels as ive only had mine 3 weeks and im having to hold myself back getting it done. Is it really that much different?
 
I changed my cupra tdi for a LCR at xmas. I knew I would spend more on fuel but my wife drives it 99% of the time so she pays for fuel.

Realistically though yes its more juicy, more on tax, tyres etc but it alot of fun to be behind the wheel.
Insurance wasnt really an issue due to age I think increased by £60. I did miss the TDi for a while but really loving the LCR.
 
I have my LCR for the past six months after changing it from a Chipped Fabia VRS...the one and only thing that amazed me was the poor mpg...ive been averaging 20-21 mpgs. I do a 20 mile round trip to work in rush hour though..The LCR is the best handling car ive owned out of all the cars ive had ( Ibiza Cupra TDI, Leon FR TDI) , just wish i could see over 230 miles on a tank . I agree with most people on here though , try all your options out before doing anything rash !
 
You should be getting around 300-330miles to the tank mate.

Try changing out of 1st gear ;)
 
I guess with the miles to the tank it depends what people call a tank (if you get my meaning) i.e. I always fill up when I get down the 1/4 left marker and I refer to that as a tank of fuel where as others may take it down to point where its running on fumes.

I'm getting to the point where I think I will REVO the TDI and see how I get on. I know its going to cost £400 to find out, it will probably keep me quiet for a few months. Thanks for all the replies.

£400 sounds a lot but realistically if I keep the car for another 5/6 months I will have saved that in fuel bills for the LCR so I won't be any worse off. :think:

Running until the computer says you have 0 miles left and then going about another 10-15miles after that is what i consider a full tank of fuel or when you get 55+litres back into the fuel tank.

In that case, I have never had less than 350 miles to a tank..... :whistle:

If I were you, I would gladly put my time and money into your TDI I have a Leon 150 PD. I am unsure of the difference to your model, but I recently had mine in and sorted it out with revo.
I can only tell you this honestly, you will love the power it’s so quick no lag great response, I am positive you would not regret the spend.
Alternatively though if your heart is set on a new car, go with it, and live with the decision, both very nice cars you still win either way.

coming in on this thread a little late but being an FR owner i'd say go for the LCR. I had a nice little race with my friends LCR.

It is definately much faster especially once you hit past 70+ mph. He just slipped into the other lane and whooped it past me. He did say he had to rev hard to over take and so forth so the FR is quick but even so he whooped me.

ALTHOUGH - maybe revo, add some struts braces, bigger discs on the front and you will have a nice card indeed :D

TDI holds its value better than a LCR....where did you hear that?

Anyway, you watch the price of diesel rocket in the next 6month/year as the goverment see's that most new cars are diesels...which are more unhealthy for our environment, and put the tax and full up!...petrol will be lower.
 
totally agree with DIESELDAVE, you summed up my LCR expereince. its a rapid expense of brakes,tyres,fuel fuel fuel. I do same sort of drive to work, man, 230 a tank is so normal for me. But i absolutely love it,and dont care. It is expensive, but the alfa I owned was far worse, and Im happy to pay the price. I love the build,handling,performance, acceleration,braking,control and attitude.
I love italian motors, but still - LCR is my favourite car to date.

PS-blasting it is soooo much fun, but brakes and tyres also cost more on a LCR.

I was always under the impression that modern diesels produce less harmful emissions hence tax is less. Furthermore the distances you go in diesel out ways the distance you go with petrol which produces similar amount of emissions for less miles in a petrol.
