I've been sorting out the bits and pieces on the old LC and I'm wondering what to do next from a tuning point of view... the car runs superb and is very healthy.

I can either look into getting the car remapped again (it's had exhaust / downpipe / TIP / etc. done since the last map) to gain a little ... perhaps fit FMIC as well although I'm not entirely sure what I would gain as the car has been mapped very well going by the last recent rolling road.

But then it occurred to me that for the price of the custom remap (£300) that would be nearly half the Hybrid packages I've seen around ... which are good for 270-280bhp...

What does SCN say?

Why would it make a huge difference?

Cooler inlet charge - yes ... but due to longer piping ... more lag over the SMIC setup?

Thinking of the future, if you are going to do it at some point I would still do it before the 2nd remap.

What boost do you run now?

If you ran low boost, massive FMIC and small turbo then perhaps... but I can't see it being noticeable if I am honest on these (with a stage1 map at least).

According the gauge (not checked with VCDS) it's running 1.2 bar

Looking at FMIC's and do feel that's the next step... so many damn threads though!

Main thing seems to be sourcing the hard pipes and silicone hoses.

Heat soak only in Summer TBH...

Rear ARB - No ... not felt the need with all the other suspension work TBH.

Id look hard at that personally. Obviously not driven your car and handling is subjective but for me rear on its own made as big an impact to cornering as a remap made to power.

Well there is a couple of reasons I've not gone down that route ... firstly is due to the car having all new springs / dampers and being fully re-bushed - in fact the only original bushes on the car are now the rear beam.

At present it is firm but compliant and handles extremely well... the wider tracking has also had a positive effect.

Secondly I've done a great deal of reading up on the pro's / con's of installing an additional ARB on these cars (remember the rear beam is essentially a roll bar) ... and generally the advice is to run a slightly small roll bar on the rear as opposed to the front which could make the rear likely to oversteer easily ... with the front bar on an LC being 21mm (IIRC) that doesn't leave any options for the rear ... the smallest I can find is 23mm?

Therefore ideally both should be changed which is a pretty big chunk of change for a couple of steel bars...

Thoughts? :whistle::D

I think mines 24mm and It still wants to understeer, just. You can induce oversteer but it takes effort. I can do roughly almost double the speed cornering (think small roundabout) before any loss of grip due to the rear helping to grip more than before.

Your info sounds right but I think the numbers are wrong. 24-28 seem to work without troubles... not that ive read on here anyhow.
What I would be careful of is over stiffening the front which could create more understeer, and too stiff at either end and it'll get twitchy.

Now that's interesting ...

So if I stick with the stock front ARB (is it 21mm or 23mm?) what is recommended for the rear?

I agree it's something I'm worried about as the car is already pretty firm so stiffening either end too much will have me loosing grip due to skipping ...

Ill check whats on mine... its the eibach one iirc. Front is standard.

I dont recall the car feeling any different ride wise, only cornering where it feels flatter. Certainly much better grip from all four corners.

I appreciate your nerves, handling is very personal.[B)]

Cheers... would be appreciated.

Indeed but I'm not 100% happy yet with the handling but suspect the alignment will sort that!
