Is it possible to do via Vag-com? My friend has a problem with the immobiliser on his TT and it wont allow the car to start, i was wondering if its possible to disable short term until the problem is fixed?

I dont mind replys in PM or i can add you via MSN etc... as its proberly not somthing that should be broadcasted on the net.

Thanks.

Im not sure he just said that the car wont start because the immobiliser wont switch off, i havent been to see him yet to give the car a scan to see what faults are logged.

You can't do it with Vagcom, but you can interrogate the immo ECU to find out why (or is it the clocks...)

anyway, a fault code scan will tell you what's up with it

What about the other keys, do they still work? Not sure, think its a pin number, work shop no (Check the stickies, should state whats needed).

Keys don't loose their adaptation, neither is it likely that the transponder in the key is faulty. There are a couple of known issues, starting with the reader coil wiring and connectors which is a very common issue. these things are not hard to diagnose, start with checking the instrument cluster for fault codes and check the measuring value blocks.
