Discovered somthing new about my window wipers

Hi Folks,

I did do a search for this before posting but nothing obvious came up.

Despite having my car now for a year, i had never noticed this!

When you have the wipers on Low Speed-continuous, they automatically go to to intermittent operating when stationary. they resume to continuous when you start moving again.

No idea how ive not noticed that before!

Am i unique, or is this something else everybody knows!?

theres lots of little things that you'll only pick up on after a while,

like the fans going to recirculate when you spray your windscreen to stop the washer fluid smell coming into the car ... they'll also go to recirculate when you put the car into reverse

Tons of other little things too - there was a list somewhere that complied most of them.

I had that on my BMW 318 and only noticed it by chance. Good feature!

And when you have the front wipers on and select reverse the rear wiper works.

As said there is a thread with all of these little tricks and more.

That can be very annoying if you have a bike rack on the back

^^^^^^I'm sure your dealer of vag com can disable it.

Mind you some of those bike racks look well dodgey to me, I hate being behind one, imagine the mess if you hit a loose bike that fell off.

Yeah, I agree I had to use one recently and hated it, just didn't feel safe. (Didn't like having to drive slowly either!)

Another one for you, should you use your intermittent over 80mph the wiper wipes down, pauses then returns to help clear more spray.

Over 80.... i cant say that theres any chance i would have notce that one.... : I have noticed it but im sure it was more like 72...

Recirculate when you spray, spotted that one too but never noticed the reverse thing - will need to try that later!

Will see if i can see the thread with the little tricks not in the hand book and check its upto date

I'm going to try this on the way home!! New to me, but then the car is new to me as well...
