No, I have purposely stayed away from that place, it'll kill me . I'm dead happy with the 'by hand' results that i've achieved this weekend so this'll be my routine. If I ever get to the point where I have a new Lambo or the like, i'll just pay someone.

Mash, no, no swirls but clay bars cause marring so I wanted to make sure that any damage that it did could be removed.

You shouldn't get any marring if you keep the panel well lubed, and maybe try using a finer clay if your not already.

i used AG super resin at the weekend for the first time in years and was really surprised with the results, only did 1 layer but it was better than i remembered. even worked fine in direct sunlight.

Never really got on with it on my MR2s black paint could never get that nice deep shine, but the LCR seems to take quite well.

Nice to hear. I got some AG SRP for Christmas as a side present (ok, I put it on my list of things I wanted, the in laws arent that telepathic) but havent had a chance to put any on yet, as the weather and time just havent been right. In the meantime, I've been using Dodo Purple Haze for a wax. Hopefully with more hours of light now and a bit more sunshine, I can get back to how the black LCR was meant to be

I use a Meguiars Clay Bar at present but I don't know how that compares to others, I hear good things about Bilt Hamber though.

I have only ever used the Bilt Hamber stuff so i have nothing to compare it to, but it was easy to work with, cheap, left no marring, and doesnt need an expensive lube. Ticks all the boxes for me!

No not at all retro, were you allowing it to bake on in direct sunlight? That could be a reason why, otherwise it should buff off easily with no dust.

I made that mistake yesterday, looking at a chap who was building a new garage to store his car and products.

Not only do i now want a massive garage, ive also compiled a £200+ shopping list of more products i need ontop of the £150 ish i already have

Car looks fantastic, can tell you put a lot of time into it.

Thanks steffers & willy . Detailing world is mad, i'm forcing myself to stop here although I bought a breathable car cover for it so on the days I don't use it (mid-week), it stays as immaculate as it did before I parked it up and washed it. Maybe that's a little OCD .

Willy, I got busy on the wheels with a microfibre sponge and washing up liquid to strip all the brake dust off and old wax. I then washed them again in Megs NXT shampoo to get rid of the washing up liquid and rinsed with cold water. I put a coat of Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze after that which is very slightly abrasive and good at removing any small tar spots, that was then followed by 1 coat of Chemical Guys JetSeal 109, left to harden for 15 - 20mins and buffed off. Finally, I added a coat of Collinite 476s, buffed it off and left the car over night. The following day I went over the car with Dodo Juice Red Mist which I also used on the wheels.

It sounds like a veeerrrry long process but I was doing this at the same time as doing the body of the car so it didn't take too much more effort.

The finish on the wheels is a car paint though so it's naturally got some gloss to it anyway (Porsche Meteor Grey).

How long did you leave it on before buffing?

Shouldnt be getting any dust.

if its dusting up your probably putting too much on.

I think it was a combination of the heat and probably applying too much. It was OK the first time I used it & I put another coat on this weekend and it was fine

you want to lay the wax on as thinly as you can... sounds odd and doesnt look as though you are covering the car enough but you should only just about be able to see the wax on the paint...
