You shouldn't use red mist after wax as it contains strong solvents. Wait at least 24 hours before applying red mist.

Yep, applying Red Mist over the wax will increase protection as long as its not applied directly after waxing and left for a 24 hour period.

You can apply it straight away if you use sealants.

what sort of sealant do you suggest?
i thought the wax was the sealant do you put the sealant on after the wax then?
im guessing the sealant protects or strengthens the wax.
or do you use a sealant for example collinite 476 rather than purple haze?

There are so many :)

CarLack Nano Synthetic Care (all in one product, cleans and protects however contains no cut)
CarLack Pure Sealant
JetSeal 109
Ziano Z2 Pro
Red Mist (Spray sealant)
Ziano Z8 (spray sealant)

In short....well wax is a sealant in the sense that it protects the car. Sealants are synthetically made where as waxes are natural.

When i detail a car I put sealants down first and then wax on top. You can however wax and then put a pure sealant on top. Both work well and it all depends what you are trying to achieve.

Im guessing the sealant protects or strengthens the wax.
Yes it can.

Collinite from my experience lasts longer than purple haze. Its really down to preference.

Perfectly fine.

- Wax the car,
- leave for 24 hours
- wash the car again to get rid of dust
- Apply as many coats of red mist as you want. Each application lasts around 3 weeks.

thanks for all your help.
so what do you suggest for a long lasting protection to the paint as i would like to use the lime prime looking at the results it leaves then i want the long lasting protection of a wax/sealant to keep the paint looking nice and i want it easy to clean for as long as possible?

Probably hardest question you asked cause there is so many different ways to do things.

If you want to use lime prime then lime prime the car pure sealant on top and collinite. I must say collinite seems to last forever.

Just try lime prime and collinite for now. Keep it simple as I think that will work best. Lime prime then two thin coats of collinite (remember to leave the wax to cure)

Al,

Its all in the preparation. Its all in the technique when you apply the product. Its the quality of product.

When you say long last protection that can me different things to different people. You will get 3-4 months I would say before she needs another wax.

The secret is the make sure the paint is well prepped before application.
