does a Mk2 cupra gear knob fit a Mk1 ???

Guys as the title says, I have seen a MK2 cupra gear knob at a breakers, interested in it and wondering if it fits ?? before i buy

Sorry if this sounds daft but will a mk1 LCR gearknob fit mk2 Cupra?

I'm guessing so but just playing it safe.

not a daft question mate as from memory you have to fiddle about a bit with the mk2 one to make it fit the mk1. I wouldn't like to say .....
