I done some logging, with my old maf it was reading about 131g and with the new maf it was reading about 170g on the vagcom :)

my car just didnt feel as perky as it used to, so knew something was up

claudefrog what errors were being caused by your faulty MAF? Ive just disconnected mine but Im still in work at the moment and havent started the car since disconnecting it for the drive home, what can I expect? Error light on the dash? Im sure most people are aware since having REVO ive had boosting problems as the car is only making 16psi then settling to about 14psi then tailing off as expected...

Ive been quoted 56 quid by GSF in cardiff through a mate of mine, is this a good price? this isnt exchange and I believe its a bosch unit.

oh it deffo makes a big difference, the car automatically feels perkier even off boost , just has a little bit more oomph.. and i went to VW for a maf as it has a 2 year warranty with it.

£54 is an excellent price tho, think mine is around £95 after returning old maf to them.

so when your MAF was faulty what exactly did it do the car, loads of people have told me it does loads to the cars performance, other people tell me it does nothing! arghhhh

Any news on yours, mine is still there.

All the manifold and turbo is done, just waiting on the diff to clear customs and to be sent to gearbox man to be fitted with the box rebuild. Car also needs mapping and checking over as think there may be a few problems with charge cooler and then as said needs mapping and then road testing to sort out the suspension as something isn't right :(

So think it will be there till the weekend after but should be worth the wait :D

right update for ya all, got stuck in work luckily finishing a boot build so the roads were nice and clear for the drive home, its boosting a touch harder with the MAF disconnected, it now peaks at about 18-19psi but doesnt feel particularly quicker, but that might be in my head!

Jonzy that'd be fantastic if you could do that! have u got the full version of vagcom? so we'd be able to clear the faults, reconnect the MAF and then do some logging to confirm or deny that the MAF is faulty?

Every time i hit 21psi, i still get a big smile.

Its especially more responsive in this colder weather! I have a mear remap, nothing else, with big potential still, e.g. turbo upgrades

If i had to get rid of it, I think ill find it difficult to match for the money and speed, the thing is bloomin reliable too, okay you get the niggles but i enjoy fixing them :)

:headhurt: obviously i need to get a life!

I have just been looking at other cars today actually (not that i am going to change) but it was one of those 'what would i buy next' moments and i really dont know. I have had two cupras now and i love them so much

I am disappointed that the MK4 looks so different...i mean i like it but not half as much as the MK3

I think (may be in contradiction to what i just said) i would go for the MK4 Ibiza if i was going to get one brand new rather than the new Leon
