Does anyone know if the Leon Facelift 52 reg-05 has the can-bus wiring system. I have a customer with problems with the HID ballasts keep failing.
Mine is a 2001 with no problems so was just wondering if anyone new?

Some 2002 and newer VW's come with the double-DIN "Premium VI" radio. This radio does not have a k-line connection, but rather has a CAN-high and CAN-low. Although the connector is completely different and it shouldn't be possible to have the "Aftermarket Radio Problem" with these newer cars, it would probably be in your best interest to make sure that NOTHING is connected to these pins in the radio harness, if you use an aftermarket radio. The back of the Premium VI radio is shown in the below diagram.

Looks like the latter might do i got the above test from http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/aftermarket-radio.html

Thanks, but surelly all MK1 Leons would be the same 52 reg +. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this problem after fitting a Xenon HID kit

Are you using excatly the same ballasts? some of the far east ones are pretty poor quality.

I bought my first lot of LED side lights from one of the sellers and they only lasted 2hrs :( changed to a different make and there fine.

Why do you say that?

If the car has can-bus. E.g. Seat Leon MK2, Golf MK5 then the ballasts need to be can-bus compatable. Out slim ones are not. They work fine my my 2001 Cupra but customer was having problems with them dieing. We have can-bus ballasts but wasnt sure if the customer needed them.

They are the same ballasts that are in mine yes. All LED and HID comes form the far east, you just got to source the best stuff :)
