Does your alarm beep?

Hi guys,

I own a '55 Leon FR Tdi.

Tell me, when you lock and unlock your Leon via the remote does it 'beep' and double 'beep' at you?

The reason I ask is that I sold my old one this morning and it has never done this in the two years I'd owned it. The new one does it and when I went to take it out for it's first drive this morning the immobiliser stoped the car starting and the alarm goes off.

I'm wondering if it's the factory alarm or something aftermarket? I'd just fitted a new stereo so I'm wondering if I've disturbed something behind the dash. If it's factory I'm going to check the coil in the ignition barrel and the soldered joints behind the speedo cluster.

I have a 53 plate lcr and mine beeps once to open and double beeps when I lock it. Think its normal unless the bloke that had it b4 me done something to it.

That's good to know thanks Paul, I just wanted to confirm before i start pulling the instrument cluster out tomorrow

Mine does it but that's because I activated it in vcds, easy enough to turn off and on
