Ok so I've ordered a catch can, and I'm very very tempted to buy a AKS baffled sump and Mocal oil cooler too. Then, and only then, will my car be finished.

Unless you are planning on tracking the car i think an oil cooler and baffled sump are not necessary.
Project cars are never finished

It gets to a stage of when is something being added for the sake of it. When I built my car i was only going to go for a hybrid K04 first, then a 2871 and then went balls out with a 2.0 and 3071, it all depends if you plan on selling the car in the not too distant future and how much money you want to invest making it 'perfect'?

If your ever considering tracking a car I think a baffled sump and oil cooler are a must for your own peace of mind, a bit like doing rods on stage 2+ you want to have ALL supporting mods to make the car achieve the power but do it reliably as well. I see sooooo many local cars that their owners tune (not seat) and scrimp on areas like servicing and basic tuning parts. I suppose it's all down to budget.

I agree chaps but it's still nice to know the car will be able to perform on the track (I would love to take it out sometime). For the cost of an oil cooler and catch can (fairly cheap) its worth doing.

The car oil gets very hot sat in traffic so the cooler will be helping in daily situations. Also baffled sumps aren't just for track, they can be used for fast road too.

I bought the V3s years ago hoping to take the car to the track, coupled with all the braces, polybushes, and braided lines here and there, the car will be very capable I'm sure.

Ditch the oil cooler and catch can for an aem wmi set up. I,m playing with my setup at the moment and it significantly improves performance. Sorry I didn't do it earlier.

Where are you putting the nozzle? I'm thinking of using a forge map pipe and having the boss welded into that. Does the forge pipe fit with the battery in the normal place as space seems tight?

Thats where i fitted mine and it does fit but you need to trim the battery tray.

Ok so I'm looking into going on a trackday at the end of September at Blyton Park in Lincolnshire.

To get prepped for this once the engine has been strengthened, I will be looking into a few more choice mods to protect the investment. The front bumper and wheels can wait until the priorities are done. Few more things left to buy.

* AKS Baffled Sump.
* Mocal Oil cooler (13 row)
* New spark plugs.
* Refresh of the brake fluid.

Then book the tickets and job done. Car has come a long way. Very pleased with her.

Well it is still booked in for the 15 August for a couple of days, but Alex emailed me to say the shipment has a delay to end of month, early next month

Btw was looking through a thread, you said your not doing the water pump. My advice do it, get the newer metal version. I think there around £40. When i removed my old one the plastic fins fell apart.

Agree with Sam, you've GOT to have that metal impellered water pump! It's a must

Got mine done not long after buying the car.

Had my water pump done with the cambelt 16 or 17 months ago. Looked at the receipt the other day and it was done 10k miles ago. So should be fine

Still it keeps in time with the next cam belt change. Its only a 2min job when the cam belt is off. I know i would.

Ok so a little milestone in the life of my LCR......'frisky fifties'

As a birthday pressie I'm still waiting for my rod package, and have decided the exhaust manifold WILL be going on. I think I will kick myself if I didn't buy the V3. Then oil cooler, wheel and bumper refurb and I will fully be able to enjoy the car.

Car is now 7 years old which means it has driven under 7k miles every single year of its life. Also regarding the 251 miles trip meter thingy, it was sat at halfway on the petrol gauge so still does 320 miles to a tank!

Still loving the LCR.

Apologies for not showing on the RR day but once the rods and manifold is on the car will be great. I imagine 'slightly nippy' is the correct term.
