you could try fix it yourself? if you take the door card off theres a little hook, thats probley come off just need to hook it back on.

is that the one thats on a cable? i remember when i worked for skoda these cables used to break. i cant open the door to get the door card off and i think im going to save it for the stealers,i phoned them earlyier and the salesman seemed to think it would be dampness on the actuator which i cant beleive as it was fine yesterday and so was the weather,he did seem sure though he also said they would fix it without booking it in.

just got back from the stealers to get my door opening problem sorted but they couldnt do it as they dont have the part in stock it turns out its the catch,i hate to think how there going to get that card off without opening the door or how there going to get the door open. when it does get done i will check it all over to make sure they havent damaged anything i know what these people are like.

how do they know it's the catch if they haven't had the door open??? you can take the handle off from the inside & check the tension on the cable while your door is closed anyway - may be worth a peek!!!

they will know if its a common thing i suppose, also they would have checked on the computer they plug in to make sure theres no central locking fault im assumeing as i had noticed they had been under the bonnet, also if you know to check this catch by taking the handle off id hope they do too. im not defending them but thanks toptotz.

Some people like the "2 pulls to open the door from the inside" but some people find that it ends up getting broken when it gets pulled way too hard by mistake.

You can get the 2 pulls to open turned off at the dealers.

that sounds like a good plan will that deactivate the auto lock? i dont mind to much but i dont want this catch to keep going especially with my heavy handed girlfriend in the passegers seat on ocassions as she was the last one out of that door, she will get :banned: otherwise lol.

phoned up dealer today to see if my door catch was in and funny enough it was they had failed to let me know :censored: i asked if could come get it fitted today but he said were going to have to break into your car to open it so now im booked in for thursday bare in mind its a warranty job and they ordered the part last monday,so im stuck with a car thats a health and safety risk for nearly another week

"Break into the car" :-o jesus i hope they mean just slip i thin bar down the window seal and somehow slip the catch. It all sounds brutal :scary:

Well thats how the AA did it in an ex girlfriends car when i managed to lock both sets of keys in the car when fitting a stereo  dont ask

We had a VW Golf blocking a yard near where i work and the police were called but they used plastic wedges driven into the door frame BUT hang on that wont work in your case

Blimey i'd almost want to stay with the car when they did it to make sure no damage is done:(

finnaly got my door catch sorted out today. i also asked them to make it so i dont have to use the opener twice to get out they have done this as i asked and also advised that the door will not self lock anymore im not bothered about that though. just glad my passenger door opens now.
