Anyone got any bright ideas for covering these ? I upholstered mine with lycra and crystals but, the crystals are now falling off with the wear. I bought a set of green lupo seats and the fabric colour is proving to be a pain in the arse to match. Im thinking Vinyl wrap ? fibreglass ? filler ? anything ! so show me your covered doorcards !!!

I'm kind of in same situation, got some leatherette, but have no idea how to put it on as the door cars aren't flat.. wish I could help, though vinyl wrap seems like it could work..

Covered mine with leatherette, Both top and bottom.
Make sure you get a decent contact adhesive if you do it though, I bought some cheap spray stuff at first, It worked well to start but eventually started coming off, Had to do it again with some decent stuff.
This shows it the first time, You can see where it is coming un-stuck, This won't happen if you get something decent, Evostik used to be the best but that aint what it used to be twenty years ago.

Mine are covered with suede-type fabric - it's slightly stretchy which made the covering easier (with sopydex to hold it down), and even though it fades after a few years it's cheap enough I just redo it!

That looks pretty good considering ! Did you use quite thin leatherette and any tips for coping with the undulations ?

I would say it is a medium weight/thickness, As for applying it that is the hard part, lol.
After applying the contact adhesive and waiting the time needed you need to lay it on as loose as you can.
You then need to rub around the edge of the dish, Then you sort of push down the shallow slope stretching as you go into the dish, It is harder to explain than it is to do, lol
You then need to stretch the remainder to the outer edge to remove ant creases and then around the edge to the back.
It really is harder to explain than to do, You need to get an off-cut and give it a go on something first to see how it stretches.
The one I had was cheap at £5 running metre and it matched the TT leather pretty good.

The best adhesive to use is a glue from frosts, it is by far the best I have used. I have recovered several roof linings and door cards with this and it has never come down!

We used this on my mates fiesta zetec four years ago and there is still no sagging in the roof lining or lifting on the door cards!

Highly recommended product!

I will dig the link out and post it up here

Agghhh it wont let me post a link !

If you go to w w w . f r o s t . c o . u k then look for contact adhesive it is in a tin and is £12.77

This glue is a high temperature so when we eventually get sun and the insid eof the car gets warm it will not drop! trust me you will not be dissapointed!

Does anyone think that the upper doorcards would be suitable for vinyl wrapping ??? Im not worried about the fabric texture coming through.
