Im going to finish off my exhaust system by getting a downpipe and decat...

i already have a milltek non-res cat back...and am looking at getting the milltek downpipe, however have heard problems with it causing the engine light to come on, i presume due to the cat being removed...any one had this problem?

Also will it provide any power gains, or will the car need to be mapped again?

Also is the noise a constant drone, or will i not notice much difference than what i have now with the cat-back?

Cheers for any help...

you will get a diffrence just from the downpipe alone.I cant say about the de cat as i have a sports cat but i cant see why it would bring a error up?

what sort of difference?

less lag? more noise?

im more worried about noise as it is my daily driver and worried it may be too loud

With your car being a diesel i dont think the noise level would be too loud and as for the warning light i know you need to get them mapped out on petrol versions but im not sure about diesels it may be the same! Thats the good thing about diesels is you can go decat and still pass an MOT with petrol you have the hassle of putting the cat back in so most people just end up with race cats :)

it wil never be too loud as its diesle and they are quiet anyway, plus the Turbo acts as a silnecer anyway.

Let us know what its liek as thinking about getting mine done if i hang on to the car. Had a downpipe and sportscat on the last diesel and it sounded lovely.

Which is the better option then or have you only had that setup? there was some thread on here about sports cat being illegal now or something.

i ordered the miltek downpipe and decat as well as non res and it doesnt do your head in, in fact there isnt much of a sound until about 2.5k and unless your booting it, it does have a nice whistle though!!!!!!

as for bringing on error codes mine hasnt as you dont need a cat on a diesel, get the decat on and enjoy mate,
