how you stop this?

i lad i know his seat used to do this as well

what is it?

Mine does it too lol

Sounds like a bolt has come loose on the mountings. Will have to check it tomorrow! Well annoying tho

its usually the bar for releasing the forward/back catch rubbing on the frame

stick a rag under it where it comes close to the seat base

if that cures it - stick ya hand in and bend it down

base is usually painted black just look for signs of rubbing usually see silver/metal

I dont know where any of my squeaks come from to be honest but i try and ignore them really, then again i always have my music on full blast so cant really hear them ;)

easiest way (honest) is to take the seat out and turn it over on a bench/table as you can spot the tell tale scrape marks easy then

after that a bit of brute force and ignorance is the key ;)

most probably be the control bar for the forward/back release (reach) but i have known a couple with a break/split on the lower base frame itself - its easily stripped and welded up though just space/time consuming

*edit* DONT forget if you have side airbags to disconnect the battery for a while first or as usual if in doubt leave it to the experts

when i last visted the seat stealers i asked about me seats creeking and they said that it was most prob caused by the little plastic washer runner bits wearing down therefore creating play in the runners so the seat is able to move side to side if you see what i mean!

they said you could try and replace these bits and it should stop it! think they are like 50p each!
