Hello,
I'm sure there's been a post somewhere about this already - but I couldn't quite find what I wanted, so here goes:

I have a mk3 cupra and all has been fine until today I pressed the switch to wind the window down and it seemed to struggle then clunk and come down with a bit of a shudder/judder. Then as the window got about 3/4 the way down it make a big bang noise coming from the inside of the door..

My mate said he's had the same issue in his old S3 and took the door card off and replaced a clip.

Has anyone got any experience with this or know how to fix it?

Help is always appreciated, thanks

Edit: By the way - the window seems to still work fine - going up and down but does the same thing every time it comes down. Going up - no problems

are you getting any marks on the window once its been down?
as marks like its been rubbing on something when going up/down?

i was going to say regulator, but normally when they go your window drops down into your door until you get the regulator fixed

yeah marks on the window like dirty white marks like i hadnt cleaned it in a while, but the car is shining. Actually, i got in the car today and its working fine again, just seems its having a hard time still, almost like it neesd lubing!

could be a few things... the only way to find out is to take off the door panel.

could be :

1. windows slipped out of the guide rail. (most likely if its going up and down sluggishly)

2. window reg cable caught on something.

3. window motors on its last legs (doubtful though as there was a "clunk" noise).

dont know if i can help with instructions as dont know what car you have.

hope this helps.
