Driveshaft issue.

Decided to replace my driveshaft as selling the car soon and had no problem taking off driveshaft, found replacement one same part number etc everything matched up. But i cant get the driveshaft to fit into the hub no matter how much i try. anyone have any tips?

Are the splines damaged on your replacement one? Maybe check they are good with a fine needle file?
I would measure the spline diameter and spline count - just to ensure it's exactly the same as your old one.
I have not changed my drive shaft - but have changed my wheel bearings, and the drive shaft slid in by hand.
Presume you have dropped the wishbone, disconnected the ARB drop link and steering tie rod end?

That was also my first thought. I had this issue myself on my Leon 1M once, where we damaged the splines getting the driveshaft in again
