There are a lot of guys who love driving these older motors on track, oddly the racing garage that did my roll cage the owner has gone from a MK4 Leon to big Porche and is now looking at going vintage racing in a MK2 Cortina (now that does take me back)

As the owner said in the interview, I think the early 00's cars fell out of favour very quickly when the new designs & models were launched, making the older models look more rigid & 'boxy', but now there is a resurgence because they stand out, & are obviously built to last! Love them.

And lets not forget they are massive fun to drive.

Funny you should say this.
I had a mk2 Octavia VRS I bought brand new in O6.
Race blue, loved it. Kept it 13 years.
But now they don’t really make me look twice, however a mk1 VRS I would have one now.
And as for the new ones. I can’t tell the difference between a VRS or the rest of the range. :ROFLMAO:
