UPDATE

Went to the RR yesterday with 8bit, sponge g40 and corsasport lads

It was down at dastec all the SCN lads were erm pretty late haha. Most powerful car there was a corsa B turbo made sumthing like 540bhp crazy from a corsa

I made 203 bhp at the wheels, i was pretty happy. Got told was a good example and held its boost well:)

Also got a tip of sponge how to get my ariel off so fitted my old 207 one

Well if Drka's car isn't mapped then mine has serious problems - I made 176bhp at the wheels (bear in mind this dyno only gives wheel figures, not flywheel figures) and Russ reckoned that mk1 LCRs lose about 60bhp in the drivetrain, so that makes mine about 236 and Derek's about 262. I'll get my printouts into my thread today hopefully but apart from a slight fuelling issue which Russ reckoned could be MAF related he said mine looked decent for a standard car.

You hear about PB open day? Will be lots of special offers so might be good deals on Rotary's :)

@ 15 PSI boost this is not a mapped car.

60 BHP losses is a very high figure.
Depends on the RR but I've seen on other cars 25-50 BHP losses.
Logging is the only way to tell but 203 BHP ATW is a very decent figur for an OEM mapped car.
Get it on VAG com logging 009, 020 and 15, get the revs down to 1,200 RPM's in 4th and pin the accelerator and take it all the way up to 6,500 RPM's.
This will show a MAF flow figure, boost actual v's requested and will 100% tell whether your car is mapped or not

Sponge G40 hahaha - that made me laugh

15psi of boost seems a bit high for a standard car surely willie? Don't know the LCR's like you though

I would of thought Dereks car was a progressive stage 1 mapped and nialls was standard, no?

thought standard cars ran about 7 or 8 psi

Allen logged my car when it was still totally standard shortly after I got it, it showed about 181.28g/s which works out to 226.6 or 231.1 BHP, depending whether you like to multiply by 1.25 or 1.275. This was with the OEM paper filter in the standard airbox. Between then and the RR day the only changes are a silicone TIP, 007p valve and big Jetex cone filter. The car doesn't feel like it's lost any power since i got it, if anything it feels slightly more responsive.

The dyno is only 3 weeks old and some others did say they were a bit disappointed with the figures... That said Russ said he sees quite a lot of these cars and they all show about 60bhp loss in drivetrain?

I'll post my printouts in my own RR thread today and start one in the mk1 LCR section as I've got a potential slight fuelling issue which I need input on too.

Oh yeah, and you will have to take me out for a spin in your LCR, never been in a mapped one before! :p

Yeah i was hoping to give mine another hit with the G220 but i dont know if im gonna have enough time. Got some of that Iron cut to give a try. Im even thinking of having one of my wheels refurbed. But after the drive from elgin im sure mine will be dirty again:cry::cry:

Haha Course i will take ya for a spin, should have my good tyres on so will actually get grip instead of just spinning

Yup agreed a very high figure for an OEM car but also a very very low and 'progressive' boost for a stage one too

yeah sponge mad me laugh when i looked back on it,lol

I was just going off what i was told at dastec and the diffrence between mine and Nialls results. I was told when i got the car it was remapped but had no evidence to back it up

Yay! I will look forward to it, can't wait to get a mapped LCR myself, in red of course! Look out for a smallish dark haired "quine" standing around a red cupra!
