• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
we used to run carbon metallic pads on here, pf01's etc from performance friction.. greater stopping power than ds2500's, more akin to ds3000's in bite but boy did they emit an aggressive dust !!
similar money to the ones you describe.

I am going to go against the grain of the above. i have had EBC pads on many cars and always liked them. I have Red on my LC, they have not warped the discs, and i do not ever get heat fade. They are a lot cheaper than 2500s too.

Sort of, Cupra R kit will be a bit expensive but you could go for a 312mm conversion from a cupra, they are normal style calipers and disc's but a little bit bigger [B)] do you know what size disc's you have now ???

I've just got the standard on at the moment. Not sure what size they are?
So could i just get larger discs and better pads without spending too much?
Thanks for helping out a novice :)

I've got redstuff pads on my LCR, seem to perform well and had no issues with them....(touch wood!)

I too had Red stuff pads and i was fairly happy with them till I tryed the Ds2500, they are a lot better so far ;)

Any rough ideas then for carriers, calipers, pads and discs?
List already sounds long!

Theres a 280mm kit in the for sale section for £70 but they are probabley the same size as what you already have, but as an example http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=206159

Do a search for 312mm or 280mm brake coverstion.

You should only need the carriers, calipers, discs and pads, if you plan to do it yourself you will also need to bleed the system after so you'll need some brake fluid aswell, this is not something I would attempt on your own unless you know what you are doing.

Thanks for your help D.K.
I'm almost sure 280mm is larger than my setup?
Anyway,I would get my mucker to fit them for me,bless him.So fingers crossed,no disasters as he works for beemer.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your input. Looks like the DS2500's come out on top for the LCR. Have made him aware so just waiting to see where and how much he's willing to spend.

I had them on my car and thought they were loud but thats my car.

Cheers
Steve

Hi guys,

All sorted. Went for a set of DS2500 in the end thanks to another member off here. Fantastic service.

I understand my brother in law is fitting them tomorrow?

Steve

I've just fitted the DS2500's to my Badger 5 2 piece discs. This is so good that my winter tyres are not allowing me to bed these in properly. Tese are a very good choice
