I had one of these on my Astra H and its ruined my EGR valve. Costing £300. Wouldnt buy one again, its the same as an ebay resistor tbh. Just upps the fuel and boost

You'd have the same problems even if you'd gone for a remap. The egr valve on the Astra is utter wank.

I have had one on my Astravan for 30k miles and had no issues (apart from the gear box goin bang) lol. Not sure if this had anything to do with the box. Increase was only about 3 mpg and that is using fuelly...

LMFAO! 390!!! you can get a p-torque remap for that, and probably a revo when on sale!

I know which i would prefer, but each to their own, happy for your choice!

To remap the CR170 TDI the ECU needs to be removed from the car and some soldering is needed on the board. You'll be lucky to change out of £700 to get this work done - when you find a place that has the ability to do it.

Programmers who have the updated coder to beat encryption can plug into the diagnostic port

This must be a fairly new deal. Everyone I've spoken to says the ECU needs removed. Sounds more do-able.

Cheers,

Steve

Ive got the FR with DSG box, so I'm sort of put off getting the car remapped. Any experience or info on the DSG box?

Cheers

The dsgid very robust, much more so than a standard clutch. The day's torque limiter can be raised quite significantly through a remap with no adverse effects. What rig you on btw?back offshore on Monday onto the chevron alba

On a Jack-up, Galaxy 2 due off Wednesday, working 3/3.

My Leon's 3 years old in March, so looking to get a remap then. I will need to see who can map the engine and box.

Cheers,

Steve

Yes it has or had to be removed mine was by Will at P-Torque but £700 your having a laugh he charges the same price as doing an OBD map
I believe some have now got around the encryption and no longer remove it
If Will takes it out he refits with brand new ant-tamper screws and a brand new cage available from Seat for peanuts so looks like no one ever touched it
