Just enquiring about a comment on up, if you turn the 007p the oposite way you get a large noise and this has no effect on the health of the turbo, I am interested in that, any more info??? Thanks

Well if they say its fine it may need to be done, what sort of a noise does it produce does any1 know??

is the stuff under the bonnet just for sound deadening? doesnt it serve some kind of heat shield type purpose? if its just sound deadening I might take it off and have a listen.... :)

NO , It's heat insulation !! Not sound deadening...
If you take it off the paint on your bonnet will crack and peel off within several months

wrong

removing this is fine, removed when mine was black and still not put on now its been resprayed purple, and no peel

if you want to hear more then remove the rubber strip on the scuttle panel, removing this allows heat to pass through the bay aswel, can see it on a cold morning,

doesn't the rubber strip by the ecu keep the bonnet from moving about

Actually I'm quite sure it's to protect the bonnet from heat.
As well for the paint as for touch.
It's also impregnated with fire retardant as well.

i removed it on my scooby and that was running about 260bhp and got stupidly hot and my paint was fine, actually the bonnet never really got that hot!

Big turbo here too and no spongy stuff , the mani even glows sometimes and my paints fine.

i no this thread has been done before numerous times and we always get the same answers i have a 2000 leon and have a turbosmart dual port dump valve and relocation kit on mine and have had it on for around 5 years at first the car was reasonably standard and it worked fine and gave plenty of noise the car is a lot more modified now and it is still in use and working fine i would recommend one of these all day long over the forge ones that i have heard but again it is all down to personal prefference
