When my car is just iddling i can hear my standard DV dumping on idle (i think) its a kind of whooshing noise.

Is that normal?

The DV seems to be a lot louder than normal aswell, car has done 46K:)

it couldnt be dumping when idling as the turbo isnt spinning (or at least, not spinning enough) to create positive pressure as the engine is mostly doing the sucking at idle.
have you removed and inspected the standard valve to see if its leaking or damaged?

I wouldnt no if it was to tell you the truth ^^^

I thought that about the idling bit and the Turbo not spinning?

What else might it be?

leak? it could also just be you getting paranoid and subconsciously wanting to buy a forge alloy fmcl007p available from most reputable seat tuners!!

if its leaking (on boost) yea you will be down on power.
warranty, yea probably. how many miles have you done? they could say its fine though.

Might not be a warranty item plus it's a very common issue, yes you'll lose power as boost pressure will be leaking through the split rubber diaphragm. £15 and 5 mins will fix it if not under warranty. 46k is actually very good for the plastic Bosch DV to last, they can go alot sooner than that.

you can't have a boost leak at tickover though..

no load, no boost

secondary air pump leak, air con leaking, that sorta thing.
