what gains they got

Heard good things tbh + revo is £470, e-maps wanted £450 to come to me in north east which is revo money so i wont go with them, but if it was sub 300 then i would

the only prob is i dont live in stafford i live in staffs i think he got a bit confused but not sure to go with a revo or custom or a e-map as i have the money for revo
plz help me decide.
and all are in 30 miles travelling distance to get either done.

Well software wise id say emaps is better as its custom i think. However do they do a sps? I dont think they do so if you want to turn it off you cant. The only reason i would want to go with revo more is the aftersales stuff.

I dont know, if its under warranty like mine is then yes id want to be able to. If its not then no i suppose you dont.

I read ages ago on here that revo needs resetting every now and then as the ecu gest used to the re-map and over time its gets back to normalish. ???

Ok cool, what is the main purpose of the sps then? is it just to turn it on and off?, im sure someone on here said the ecu gets used to the remap, but if you say it doesnt then fair enough i beleive you

Thought the purpose of the SPS was to turn the REVO off.. for warranty.. insurance? or just to have stock settings... obviously then youve got the SPS2/3's which give you other functions to tweak other settings as well as disabling the car.

I really like the facility to put the ECU back to stock settings at the touch of a button.. but i wouldnt pay a premium to be able to do it.

TDi's have limited switching ability though, so no anti theft

The ECU's are 'learning' ECU's - so 95% of the time you're just cruising - ECU learns that you want economy.. then you put your foot down & it feels a bit dumb. So you reset the ECU & off you go again

will be the same as all the others & is a short & pointless fix.

m0rk, what does resetting the ECU involve? Just unplugging the battery?

Would it make a differnce.. say in a situation where it was nearing the end of the month,and didnt have enough $$ in my bank to drive my car hard.. saving fuel..

Would the ECU learn that i had been driving economically.. so when i did want to push it.. the ECU would stil be set up with Ecoonmy settings?

Same price for me too..... toying with the idea for a while now.... but I think I will bite the bullet..... APR and REVO are generic remaps... so I can't be wrong in thinking there wont be a great deal of difference in performance of the maps.

You'd be wrong in thinking that there is any difference between a 'Custom' remap and a 'Generic' remap for stage 1 (just a remap) they are 99% the same.

APr and Revo do offer similar products, Revo code is probably a little more aggressive in it's delivery

Yep Ruddmeister is correct.

E-Maps are not Custom Custom. They can tailor how aggressive you want it via boost etc but they are all a match really.

I have been over the moon with my E-Maps map and there service is excellent too.

But you have APR, STAR, REVO, JABBA, AMD and E-Maps to choose from.

lots of uses for sps3 devices, alter timing and boost, as well as security features like diabling your car so even if you have the key it wont start, and valet mode to turn off any boost completely stop them monkey garages ragging it around

You misunderstood me, I only put Generic map becuase I listed REVO and APR, I appreciate there isn't a great deal of difference between any of the stage 1 maps, custom or not.

I was trying to say that an E-map wont be much different to REVO or APR, maybe the only difference is its power delivery, like you say.
