Ecu Defective!!!??

Hi I have a Leon Cupra 2002 with Ecu number 06A906032HN and suddenly check engine lighted, so I plug the vag com and surprise I got this error code: "16985OP0601" Engine Control Unit Defective ! ! !... but my car works perfectly, is just pointing at that error but it seems to do no harm... I called SEAT and they say there is no recall for this Ecu number, but VW has a recall for it for the same issue!!!... also in the same period of time (one month) 5 other friends and non friends with same Ecu Number are having the same problem...

any ideas???

that´s what I tought but No!, they still say that the most they can do is to give a 50% discount on a new Ecu!!!...

My previous information is not acurate on the name because I translated it from spanish Vag-Com, but I´ve found it in english...

They may try to blame it on your remap...

Searching I found lot´s of people with same problem at Audis, Seat & Vw 2002 cars... with and without remaps or solded chips... the solution is to download a checksum error program to Ecu, erase code with Vag-Com and and Remap it with original or remaped software...
