ECU or not to ECU

Hey guys just joined. I have a seat ibiza mk2 (1998) 1.4 sxe. Came close to wanting to sell as I wanted a bit more nippyness, but without the insurance increase. Has anyone had there ecu chipped or reprogrammed (around £250 it hink), was it worth it and did it work, any recommendations. currently the car is around 60bhp according to specs but chipping reckons it can get it to 83bhp, worth it? or is there another option. ONe other thing its a metallic burgandy colour, do you reckon white alloys would suit or go with bog standard silver. Also anyone know anyone who can adjust mileage on clocks and price. Just acquired GTI clocks with MFa stalks but they read 88k where my car has only just hit 73k

Don't bother with the remapping - the car isn't likely 60bhp to start with. and £250 is not good value (nor will it yield any results)

could be around the 50bhp mark mate

save your pennies and get something much quicker a bit further down the line

it' will be more than 60bhp in my experience - minor induction mods will see high 70's on the mpi engine
