what is it you want to reset exactly?

most people reset it by taking off the battery negative terminal for 10 mins.
then reconnect it and leave the ignition on but not started for 5 mins.

No idea if the ignition thing makes any difference, but this process should reset any adaptation etc.

Although im sure this is not a full and complete ECU reset.

You may or may not need the radio code!

disconnect battery (negative) for half an hour, then reconnect and go for a drive, if done properly you will need a radio code. well worth doing from time to time.

As said, disconnect battery for 10 mins or so (ignition wont make any difference).
Once you reconnect the battery put all the windows down then back up so they can learn where the stops are. As said you will need radio code (if you have standard redio)

Personally I can't see the point in ECU resets.

Sure, the car may feel different straight after, but over time it'll only re-adapt to where it was before ?

please tell me why you would reset your ecu in the first place? unless theres some major faults you have rectified and dont have acess to diagnosis equipment and need to delete. at the end of the day your engine wears the more you drive it but theres nothing you can really do about that.
