EGR Cleaning on Altea.

Good question on the seals, I doubt if its possible to buy them from Seat separately, judging by past experience. It also strikes me that if oil is getting past the seals, it constitutes a bit of a boost leak as well, though probably not very significant.
However, my car is driving much better now and shutdown is definitely smoother.

just a quick one on that-- probl'y for the younger folks  if you can get seal out in one piece then the local bearing specialist is "your friend:whistle:" and cheaper than SEAT  good for bearings odd sized "O" rings and other gems:) bearings in particular seem to have a life of their own when it comes to price(massive discounts):funk:

Tried disconnecting the battery, but it made no difference to that. Rats!!

Disconnecting will not reset an error on the Bosch or Siemens ECU that VAG are using on the PD lumps. The error is logged within the ECU , VCDS is your best bet.

BTW, well done in taking the initiative in cleaning EGR and MAF.

Have you any pics of the plate you manufactured, did you just Mill it out ?

By any chance you done have any pics of the dissasembly process of the EGR, if never tacked 1 before, and i'm not too sure what to expect when i start !

Thanks lad

+1 ... although i'll start by just asking where this is on my 1.9tdi. Feeling I should be a bit pro-active about this given i'm starting to experience some of the symptoms described earlier in the thread.
